A PRIMER ON IRAN BY PBS'S TEHRAN BUREAU: WHAT'S GOOD AND BAD ABOUT IT

More Specifically, What's Missing From the Primer As It Stands

The primer, written by a well-known journalist, Robin Wright, for the Tehran PBS bureau, is fine as far as it goes.  The problem lies with how far it doesn't go and deal with all the controversial issues now surrounding the behavior of the the Shiite clerical-authoritarian regime at home and abroad.  Prof bug's commentary left at the PBS site --- click here for it --- touches on all those major controversies.  To PBS's credit, a staff-member replied to the buggy commentary, noting that there would be further installments to follow.

In the meantime, click here for a prof bug primer left at Economist's View in June 2009 shortly after the rigged elections there.  Oh, don't forget: you might get a kick out of the replies to the buggy stuff left by a nutbin left-wing ideologue in the thread there who goes by the name of Anne . . . quite likely, the most hilarious and prolific blog-poster on the enter World Wide Web, however unintended her buffoonery happens to be.
