WHAT'S WRONG WITH ALL UTOPIAN THOUGHT, WHETHER OF THE POLITICAL LEFT OR RIGHT OR BY PROFESSORS INVOKING "THE BEST SOCIAL SCIENCE"

Today's Buggy Topic Is, As Usual,

Found at Economist's View, where the chronic posters ---about 8 or 9 --- post dozens of times a day a variety of ideologically left-wing comments, most of which are little more than strings of assertions and counter-assertions, bereft of evidence and full of a mix of Marxist slogans, pc-pieties, mirage-laden hopes, and attacks on anyone who dares challenge the guard-dogs of shared groupthink.

In this shared groupthink, President Obama, you have to understand, hasn't just been a raw crackling disappointment, he's sold out to the financial and business OLIGARCHY in control of both our economy and political system.  Similarly, Israel looms as a neo-Nazi state; American foreign policy is driven by the industrial-military complex and a war-crazed public; and the working classes in the US are the victims of nasty exploitation that has left them near-destitute and unable to break through the media-driven false-consciousness so beloved of Marxists . . . including the opium of the masses, religion.

Small Wonder Then

That a whole thread at Economist's View  was devoted to earlier this week to the need for Utopian thinking, which needless to say was of a Marxist sort , supposedly driven by a pragmatic transition informed --- you understand, by the "best" social science --- to bring about the transformation of the average American's alleged egocentric individualism, the lack of empathy for the supposed victims of structural capitalism, cultural racism, homophobia, and misogyny, and tight-fisted government programs intended, it appears, as little more than fodder for the bread-and-circus controls of the downtrodden American masses.

Click here for prof bug's two posts on the subject . . . one of which is set out in poetic form to deal with the bad verse always used by one of the chronic posters who identifies himself as an "'Ol Red."
