Today's Buggy Topic Is . . .
. . . Not just about the political stuff set out in the subject-title: it also deals with the Greek crisis, USA foreign and security policies (in a second post), and an analysis of Federal Government budget-spending by category since 1966 to the present: spending on defense, social security, Medicare and Medicaid, and transfers of revenue to offset poverty and hardship. As you'll see, much to the dismay of the left-wing posters at Economist's View where prof bug himself posted on these topics, defense spending consumed 43% of the federal budget in 1966, only to fall to 20% today.

Oh, Just Remembered
Simultaneously, in another recent thread at Economist's View, prof bug set out a lengthy survey of Greek culture and its traditions of corruption --- along with some comparisons with Italy --- both historically and in the light of some recent EU-sponsored research by teams of social scientists in the EU. The posting there hasn't ended yet, so prof bug will hold off linking to it until he's finished.
